Blues 101

Not sure what recordings make the best of the blues? Here is a great place to start. Let us know if you'd like to nominate an album/cd for this section ... We'll try to have a new one each week, which gives us nearly 2 years to get to the Blues 200!

Blues 101: Robert Johnson

PlayRobert Johnson

The prototypic bluesman. Burst from the delta (Missippi, son), sold his soul to the devil and played like he had 7 fingers on one hand (that's one more than Hound Dog Taylor).  Folks are still looking for the missing 30th song, made famous by Ry Cooder and Steve Vai in Crossroads.

In any case, the Complete and remastered 2-CD set is pure blues.
